  • Herbert Alexander | Co-Director, Production & Training

    Herbert Alexander was a founding producer of Inside Wire: Colorado Prison Radio; he hosted the morning music show, produced audio features, and managed operations while he was incarcerated at Limon Correctional Facility in the Colorado Department of Corrections. He earned a certificate in Sound Production & Audio Storytelling from the University of Denver, through his work at the radio station. With Seth Ready, he co-led the launch of a fourth audio studio at Buena Vista Correctional Facility in 2022. Herbert was released from CDOC in 2023 after serving a 64-year sentence for aggravated robbery; his sentence was reduced in part in recognition of his work on Colorado Prison Radio. Herbert is married with children and is of mixed race (Black/Chamorro). He's a lover of sports entertainment and hip-hop music. 

  • Ryan Conarro | Co-Director, Programs & Partnerships

    Ryan Conarro is a media producer, interdisciplinary artist, and organizational leader. He creates and facilitates experiences that are focused on story sharing and creative placemaking, from live theatrical events, to audio installations and narratives, to community narrative websites. Ryan served previously as General Manager and Program Director for Inside Wire: Colorado Prison Radio. He's also worked as Visiting Assistant Professor in the DU Department of Theatre; Creative Producer and Community Projects Associate at Ping Chong & Company in New York; and as Media Arts Partner Artist at Denver's Youth on Record. His work in broadcasting began in 2001, when he was Public Affairs Director for KNOM Radio in Nome, Alaska, and that work continued through various collaborations with KTOO Public Media in Juneau. His work has been recognized with a Solutions Journalism Network Audio Award; the national Leadership U Fellowship of Theatre Communications Group and the Mellon Foundation; a Brooklyn Artists Fund award; and three Alaska Broadcaster's Association Goldie Awards.

  • Seth Ready | Co-Director, Production & Community Programming

    Seth Ready served as Communications Associate for Inside Wire: Colorado Prison Radio, as well as Hotlines & Music Library Manager. Seth was born in Kremmling, Colorado in 1976; he was raised in Jacksonville Beach, Florida by his grandparents. Upon returning to Colorado with his mother in the early 90s, Seth found his way into the correctional system, where he would spend fifteen years incarcerated in the CDOC. During that time, he completed multiple college courses and vocational programs, including a Level 3 Radio Broadcasting certification, as well as economics and algebra classes. He also graduated as a Senior Coordinator in the Crossroads to Freedom Therapeutic Community. In 2003, Mr. Ready’s parents were tragically killed in an auto accident while leaving a visit, which led to years of struggle. Seth was released from prison in 2010, marking the beginning of his ongoing, upward march towards success. He has established himself as a standout Tile Setter, incorporating art and design into his projects. Seth is also a proud and doting dad, and he credits his family for his motivation and success.
